Bio

My mixed media pieces are inspired by objects of the past that find their way into my studio through garbage finds or thrift shops. The art I produce is a culmination of everything I have ever been fascinated with: music, fabric, colour, old dishes, Barbies, frames, words, books, paint, buttons and flowers. All are pieced together to say something about who I am and perhaps even something about who you are. The narrative grows as I interact with the media and the components invite viewers to construct their own story. Another thing that drives me to making art is wanting to make people think while they’re having a chuckle,

I’ve studied art in Dublin, the Ottawa School of Art and through private lessons with Vanessa Coplan, an Ottawa artist and awesome teacher. I am also the founder of Lemonjellow Productions which is an art gallery among other ARTventures. I hold group exhibitions with other artists by transforming my house and other spaces into an art gallery and throwing amusing pARTies.

I’ve exhibited with 101 Frames at 101 Gallery, at the Ottawa School of Art’s Mixed-Media Group Show, with the Hopewell Eating Disorder Clinic and Ashbury College’s annual fundraising events and most recently with Kelly‘s Barbershop, the University of Ottawa and the Cutting Room hair salon.

I have also done numerous portrait and mixed-media commissions.
